Just before the season closes I get the chance to head to Ontario’s cottage country to participate in a brand-new culinary festival. It’s always a great pleasure to be given a chance to talk to an audience of home cooks outside of Toronto.

Muskoka Brewery has been a dutiful standard-bearer for craft beer in the province and are a textbook example of a brewery that was doing well selling “gateway craft”, but has since branched out into more challenging styles. Their Detour IPA, Harvest Ale, and Legendary Oddity or three of my favourite Ontario beers. I’m glad to see that they are playing a role to help organise the festival in general and provide beer pairings for my workshop in particular.

If you don’t live in Muskoka, there is a full weekend of interesting culinary events so I’d encourage you to come out and make a few-day trip of it. Naturally, I am flattered to be listed on the same schedule with a roster of Canadian food celebrities including Stefano Faita, Rob Rainford, and Anna Olson.

This media release has more information about the weekend of events.
